I am seriously considering moving to this for organizing my notes, but I’d like to hear stories, good or bad, if anyone is using it for their professional life.
Is anyone using Evernote?

I came across this blog today about Evernote… looks like it is getting some fun updates.
Also, whats nice about this app is that is available for: Mac, PC, iPhone/iPod Touch, iPad, Android, BlackBerry, Palm Pre, Palm Pixi, and Windows Mobile. They allow you to start on one, and access info from the other.
I am sure you have seen this site, for more info: see http://www.evernote.com

Uh, I have an account. Somehow I have never gotten around to using it. I have friends who swear by it, though.

I tried using it, but I found the application itself kind of large and unwieldy. It took a long time to open and close and it slowed down my computer sometimes, which went against my idea of a quick repository for notes.
I *might* think about it more seriously for research if the free account weren’t so limited and there weren’t alternatives like zotero, which is free, cross platform, on- and offline, and can sit patiently in the corner of your (Firefox) browser waiting to spring into action on a moment’s notice. For your area something like Papers might be more effective. (http://www.mekentosj.com/papers/) I personally found Evernote to be rather limited and not worth the time. If you are an iPad or iPhone user also check out ReaddleDocs. I have ReaddleDocs running on my iPad, using it primarily for pdf annotation, if you want me to swing by and show what that is capable of.

This looks great, thanks! I’ve used Bookends for a couple of projects. There are a lot of things I like about it, but I find I haven’t been using it much lately since it does get clunky at times. This seems a lot more streamlined. Alas, I’m not fortunate enough to have an ipad (yet!), but thanks for the offer to give a demo. If the offer extends to Papers, I’d love to see it in action.
